Painted on the spot (plein air), in an impressionist, freer style with more movement in the finished piece than the studio paintings.

If you see a painting here that is already sold get in touch and I’ll happily paint at the beach again.

The size of these paintings varies depending on the size of the art board used. All are framed in a cardboard mat surround, with foam board backing, cellophane wrapped, most are matted to fit a frame size 43cm x 23cm (17″ x 9″).

Painted on the beaches and beside creeks, these small paintings are a snapshot of the day. Full of texture, colour and mood. Often these small plein air paintings become the first step to a Studio painting offering me a portal to the time to when it was painted and the ‘feel’ of the day and location.
