Book Review by Brian Innes – former teacher

Bowater and Pascoe: ‘A Cat Called Kitty’

Every parent / grandparent / adult should read this to any young child.
The story is a page- turner, full of travel and adventure. Bowater takes us from
Darwin to Kathmandu, and shows us everything from the Mona Lisa to Nessie at
Loch Ness; so the listening child will bombard the reader with questions and thus
absorb lessons in geography, art, history and culture, learning a lot without
knowing it. There’s even a dream sequence, and at the end, a moral.
Pascoe's illustrations are full of fun, movement and excitement. His characters
are like cartoons.
I think this sequel is even better than ‘A Pig Called Pete’
I have one criticism: AT $15 it’s far too cheap!
